Bath Spa and Bath University Students

What is SSAGO?

The Student Scout and Guide Organisation (SSAGO) exists to support Scouts, Guides, and people who have never been members of either Association, who are students at Colleges and Universities in the UK and are interested in the aims, objectives, and methods of the Scout and Guide Associations.

If you've been involved with Venture Scouts before, they are similar.

Bath is fortunate to have two SSAGO clubs, one at Bath University called BUGS, and one at Bath Spa University College called Sulis. They both meet weekly for all kinds of activities, ranging from bowling to biking, and wide games to board games.

If there's any activity you're interested in doing in the Bath area, they will do their best to arrange it - They will try anything once! Through them you can become as involved with Scouts and Guides in the local area as you like.

If you wish, you can help at a local Scout and Guide group, or just come along on a SSAGO night… it's up to you.

SSAGO is part of a national organisation with clubs at most universities. Once a term, all the SSAGO groups from around the country attend a rally at one of the universities. This is a great chance to see another part of the country and get wet, muddy, have very little sleep, play silly games and make lots of new friends.

Why Join?

SSAGO is the perfect opportunity to meet a large number of students with similar interests, and participate in a very diverse range of activities, that you probably wouldn't do otherwise. It also looks great on your CV!

It is not necessary to have any previous Scouting experience to become a SSAGO member, so why not come down one night and give them a try! If you like what you see on the programme and would like to get involved or just get some more info, it's simple -
