Adult Opportunities
"Getting involved in Scouting as an adult is about having fun and adventure mixed in with a real sense of purpose. It gives people the chance to contribute to the positive development of tomorrow's adults".Peter Duncan, Chief Scout
Being involved in Bath Scouting can be both hard work and fun.
You can gain so much by becoming a volunteer:
- A sense of satisfaction and achievement
- Friendship-make friends for life
- A chance to develop skills and experience new things
- The opportunity to give back to the local and global community
You can give as much or as little of your time as you choose.
Opportunities Available
We have a wide variety of roles and opportunities for volunteers in the Bath area to suit all ages and abilities and to suit all types of people.
We currently need volunteers in these areas:
- Uniformed leaders:
- Working in local groups or within the wider District to provide a challenging and varied programme; previous Scouting experience is not required
- Instructors and people to help to run activities:
- This is for anyone who can help our leaders on an occasional or regular basis, with or without any specialist skills; the best thing that anyone can offer is their time
- Administrators, managers, supporters and helpers:
- This is to provide extra support to the leaders and our young people, often behind the scenes; this type of work can include fundraising, book keeping, taking minutes, IT support, catering, helping to maintain buildings, grounds or equipment; the level of commitment required is flexible and dependant on what you can give
We'd be delighted to hear from anyone who thinks they have some spare time to give to Scouting, or who would simply like further information.
You do not need any former background in Scouting to be part of the team.

Our commitment to you and our young people
Adults offering to work in the Scouting movement will be subject to a thorough vetting process (including CRB checks) before taking up their appointment. Comprehensive training and support is available to all adults joining the movement.
If you want to do something new, Scouting is for you!
